Now that is a brilliant idea right there! I'm definitely doing this next season!

Here is first (relatively thin) ice without using transducer float, just the airstone in the water. The hole doesn't skim when fishing outside in the cold.

It helped, especially late in the day on the light biters.

As I discovered last winter, the air stone will freeze in very cold weather. I just remove it and rig the tubing in the slit of the Vexilar float as in the original pic Nice things about the Clam Aerator are: runs all day in very cold weather, has USB cable with AC wall plug, when using all day for minnows it has the circuitry to run all night while plugged in and is fully charged in the morning.

Jim Kusuda, awesome, thanks for sharing. By the way, I've found recently an awesom resource about ice fishing, where author gives cool tips how to get your gear altogether, by giving pros and cons of every item which you should take with you on frozen lake. You can check it out and take a look. What I loved there is an article about electric augers, I even have ordered one.
