There is an easy way to power in your ice anchors when using your cordless drill on a Clam Drill Plate.

By removing the wing bolt and removing your auger flighting from the extension, the Clam Ice Anchor Install tool can be used.

Just get a 1/4" drive deep 9mm socket that fits in the extension (I think I used a DeWalt) and have it welded.

Ice anchors are screwed into the ice to keep gear secured and safe in the wind. They come with hub style shelters.

And for those who are taking their drill chucks off to rig up the earlier style Clam Drill Plates, dab a little anti-seize on the threads before installing the main drive shaft. It will make it much easier to remove when setting up as a cordless drill again.

But the reduction Gearbox model allows using a full size 8" auger flighting with no problems. If you have an underpowered cordless drill, it will double your torque to help out too if using a standard 6"
