At the start of the year we had a big elk, deer and moose migration across lake Granby. We would see 2-30 every morning crossing the ice. I have never seen this many in such a short time span. It also happened when we had 4-5" of ice across the lake. How do they know its safe? Or did they just get lucky. Well, their luck ran out. The cats found them. After our uncharacteristically huge snowfall in January, the cats have been in a foul moo They have 7 deer and elk kills out on the lake and I saw 4 more up on the mountain side. Here is a link to some pictures of the kills and a lion.https://www.facebook.com/FishingWithBernie/posts/10158657161725144
What kind of animals have you seen out on the ice? Were you able to get pics? I always carry a pair of binoculars just to watch for animals on the hills.

Man, that's actually scary. The only cat I would like to tangle with is our Siamese cat, a very playful critter, only likes to hang out in her heated cat bed, and a lot friendlier than wild cats.
