Boats are already hitting Angostura since the ice came off a couple of weeks ago. The walleye bite is sporadic at best since water temps are still pretty cold. Jigs and minnows working best. There hasn't been much action from Orman other than some shore fishing as the ice access is gone, but there was still a bunch of ice left as of a few days ago.

Many of Hills lakes are still frozen and have good access as well. The trout lakes (Roubaix, Sylvan, Bismarck, Center, Horsethief) still have solid ice and decent trout bites happening. Stockade is still frozen and accessible, but it will probably be the next lake to open up in the near future. A decent gill and bass bite has been reported.

For the bigger Hills lakes, shore access at Pactola is gone save for back in Jenny Gulch, where ice fishermen are still getting onto the ice for pike, crappie, and lakers. Some of each are still being caught. Deerfield is by far the safest ice spot, with nearly two feet of ice as of last weekend and a decent trout bite in shallower water and reports of a perch bite off of the Dutchman boat launch and in the Gold Run area in 30'-40' of water. Tungsten jigs and red maggots or plastics are working best. Enjoy the extended ice season while it's here!
