Here's the fishing report for the week on the ice: last weekend's snow storm put the kabosh on most of the activity on the walleye lakes of Angostura and Orman, but there were a few fish to be caught from the diehards on Angy.

Pactola is still seeing a number of lakers being caught in 50'-70' of water, including some over 30". Shiners have been working best on dead sticks. Deerfield Reservoir is seeing an uptick in perch activity, most of which is concentrated in the Gold Run area in 30'-40' of water using tungsten jigs and plastics or red maggots. The schools should start bunching up in the near future in preparation for ice-out. A few lakers are being caught as well.

Sheridan Lake saw the Hooked on Hardwater event held on it, with a number of nice sized rainbows caught with the perch, but the bite is still pretty erratic at best currently. Stockade Lake is seeing some nice bluegills caught here and there as well as a few bass and pike, mostly on smaller jigs and plastics or maggots.

Sylvan, Center, and Horsethief are reporting upticks in the trout bite with some nicer ones in the mix of the small ones. Access to these lakes is a bit of a workout, but the ice on them is over 18" thick. Favorable weather over the next 10 days should be keeping us on the hardwater for at least the next few weeks if temperatures remain at or near freezing.
